We are nonprofit, which means you get the best teachers and classes at a competitive rate. Our students participate in an inspiring, supportive musical community through workshops and masterclasses, performance opportunities, and financial awards. As members of the BC Association of Community Music Schools (BCACMS), we provide music education for our communities. And as a registered charity, our mission includes making music available and affordable to the entire community.

We are looking for individuals who are friendly, creative, and great communicators. Applicants must have a minimum BMus. degree or equivalent Royal Conservatory certifications. We can also consider candidates with significant performance experience. Priority will be given to those who have experience working with children. Training and support is provided as required.

This is not a summer position! Lessons will begin in September and go through the academic school year. Lesson's take place at the Chilliwack Academy of Music.

Responsibilities

Minimum of 5 years creative experience in a graphic design studio or advertising ad agency environment is required. Qualified candidates for this role will possess the following education, experience and skills:

• Preparing Lessons
• Teaching weekly lesson appointments
• Logging student progress
• Preparing students for exams and performances

Required

• BMus, ARCT Diploma OR significant performance experience
• BFA or similar (for visual arts teachers)

Helpful

• Prior experience working with children
• Ability to teach Viola as well
